Esce il prossimo 16 Giugno un doppio CD piuttosto interessante intitolato Dylan, Cash and The Nashville Cats: A New Music City. Il disco funge da accompagnamento alla mostra storica al Country Music Hall Of Fame & Museum di Nashville (TN). Nell’album appare una versione inedita di If Not For You di Bob Dylan, oltre a 35 canzoni e nasce per esplorare la relazione tra pop, rock, folk e musica country attraverso una serie di registrazioni che definiscono una sensibilità e tutta un’epoca americana che continuano a plasmare e influenzare la cultura contemporanea in tutto il mondo.
Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Linda Ronstadt e The Monkees sono fra i tanti artisti pop, rock e folk che si recarono a Nashville tra la fine degli anni ’60 e i primi anni ’70 per registrare con musicisti di sessione estremamente versatili della Music City, noti agli addetti ai lavori come Nashville Cats, in gergo. Attraverso le canzoni di questo doppio album viene reso omaggio a questi musicisti.
